A manic week in the markets and for most companies who rushed to get their house in order for the GDPR deadline of the 25th May. One thing to note is this is the start of legislation being statutory in law not the end so if you haven’t become compliant yet don’t panic, just get your house in order in case of Subject Access Requests or audits. At Share Talk we were surprised to receive 2 Right of Deletion requests on the 25th May and 1 one the 26th, both were completed the same day (our users did not need to wait 30 days for the reply) and whilst we were sad to see the users go we were happy we were up to speed with the requirements. As everyone in our list has been asked to reconfirm they wish to receive these newsletters we can now look back at the week ahead knowing everyone is happy to be on board. But first in case you missed it - Google, Instagram, Facebook and Whatsapp were hit with GDPR Misuse cases on 25th May with these as the possible fines:- quite an eye opener !
